Matt says, "It is a sweet car under going extensive customization. It will have a four barrel installed as well as a functional hood scoop. The 304 was replaced with a 360 which came out of a 1973 or 74 Ambassador. The story from the guy I bought it from was that the driveshaft had to be shortened by 4" to get it to fit. I have made new floors, inner sills, rocker panels, and rocker panel caps. These were the ONLY bad spots on the entire car! I made all of these out of 26ga sheet metal with only a pair of tin snips, pliers and a hammer. It looks pretty damn good too. I will send pictures soon, and pictures of my progress as I go. The sunroof isn't actually in yet, but will be in the early spring."

Dave bought it after seeing a listing on the Classifieds page. He says, "I found it in your classifieds, and it is everything that the advertisement said, and more. It has the original AMC mag wheels, a tan Barcelona interior, AM/FM stereo, cruise, air, and a 360 4-barrel with factory dual exhausts. The car has original 45,000 miles on it. We picked it up in Southern California and drove it home to Tucson last week, about 400 miles, with no problems. It was a wonderful trip. I am surprised how people react to the car. I remember when owning one of these was considered somewhat uncool -- but I have had lots of inquiries from people interested in knowing something about it. I think I bought the right car! The car gets lots of comments and stares from people who don't even remember AMC ever MADE the Coupe. It's certainly unique here in Tucson...I have never seen another coupe on the road here since moving here in 1994. The car is really fun to drive and is in beautiful shape."

This is my second Matador, this car has had only two other owners, and I am sorry to report that I will be its last . The reason I say this is because I bought this car for spare parts. I would restore this one but the last owner had it stolen from him and the ass who stole it rolled it over three times. The last owner also told me he thought it was a one of a kind car!" (webmaster's note: If you have any information on a factory roll-back sunroof option on the Coupe - similar to the rare option found on the Gremlin - PLEASE contact me right away. I've been unable to locate a stock radio as of yet. Wonderful car to drive, seems to float down the road. Car originally came from Oregon, I have most of the repair slips and the Oregon title.
