My 1981 Eagle Wagon

The Eagle was recently given to my brother-in-law (Dec. 2002) since we were trying to cut down on our fleet, which numbered 7 at one point. We bought this 1981 AMC Eagle Wagon in 2000 for only $2000 from the son of the original owner. What a deal! It had most of the receipts for work done since new. My husband, Craig, maintained this vehicle for me and I'm happy to say the transmission and oil leaks were cured! A rarity indeed.

Unfortunately, a hail storm hit in the Spring of 2001 and covered it in hail dents! The insurance company totaled the car (but a nice settlement was involved), so we dropped our plans to do any serious restoration to it. It is a wonderful winter driver, outperforming most modern four wheel drive vehicles.

The transfer case was recently rebuilt, the transmission was rebuilt, the torque converter had a cracked hub and was replaced, and numerous other maintenance items like brakes, ball joints, axle bearings, CV joints, belts and hoses were also replaced. It's in good shape to last a very long time!
