A6A857H VIN | PS, PB, AC, tilt, steel wheels with AMC hubcaps, non-factory radio, vinyl seats |
Sheryl says, "This beauty was owned by in-laws. They kept it garaged for the first 15 years of its life. Covered inside and out. When they finally pulled it out of the garage they kept it covered with towels
and blankets. So the Interior has never been touched by human skin. Until now I uncovered everything and lo and behold
what a jewel. There is absolutly no sun damage or ware in the carpet the seats are in orginal condition the head liner
has no defects at all. There was no radio in it so I had an Pioneer CD sound system professionally installed
complete with speakers in rear dash only. The player was installed on the hump of the front floor under dash
board. They only thing I really had to replace was the rubber hoses tires and belts. One of the back doors doesnt
open. I havent had anyone look at that to see what is up with that. So Im sure its a miner thing. The paint is orginal
no rust no dents. The vinyl top is orginal as well and no damage or no dry rotting at all. You will be so
pleased to have this jewel. I bought it when I lived in Texas and drove it all the way to Glenwood Springs Colorado.
It climbed the mountain highways with no problem. Ive garaged it since I moved here last year in Nov. 2001. I
start it and drive it only on nice days. The only thing I see wrong is a oil leak. A/C works very good it will
freeze you out even in Hot Texas weather. Give me a call you won't be disapointed." It's for sale, $5500 OBO.

It's not too hard to find parts but the price is up there. I'm doing a motor rebuild at the moment, .030 over for the pistons, they are gonna be flat tops to go with my 51cc heads (#3196291), new valves and hardened seats for unleaded and lpg, then 1800 - 2200 high stall, stage 2 kit for trans and then I better toughen up the differential when I find the gears. I want 3.5 to 3.7, depends whats around"

I intend to restore it a little at a time. I am going to school right now so it might take a while. This is car the family had when I was a kid. My parents have parked it for most of the last 15 years. If anybody has any tips on what to watch out for on Mataodors that have been parked for long periods, I would appreciate any tips. I used it occassionally when I visited her and then took it off the road and stored it inside. I then had it prepared to give to my nephew - some surface rust removed, repainted, new tires, new battery, and a tune up. He did not want it so I kept it stored for four more years driving it occassionally and now wish to find a new home for it. It is all original and runs perfectly. We bought this car from a Mopar and AMC collector about 3/4 mile from our house. I saw it on ebay, and of course had to check it out. Needless to say, it ended up at our house later that same day. The interior is very nice. There are some rust issues on the body, but it looks good from a few feet away. It's driven almost daily.

George Zeman AMCFool@aol.com Yorkville, IL Purchased in Nov. 1998--I am the second owner. No rust, original paint, runs terrific, always finding more to do on it. |
| George: Current color: Original Blue mettalic, faded, needs body & paint soon. Current int color: original blue brocade, near mint condition full bench seats. Purchase location: Long story. I am the second (real) owner. This car was originally purchased by a convent in Ossining, NY. Yes, it's an ex nuns car! Anyway, something happened to the original 304 (I dunno, maybe they just ran it out of oil) and they sent it to a junkyard in Brewster, NY. As luck would have it, I happened to be looking for a Mat right at the same time, so it only spent about two weeks in the junkyard, and was about to be crushed! A nearly perfect car, except for the motor. I bought it on the spot, for $200. for parts, and brought it back to life. This was in early 1990. Now, 12 years later, it's still an awesome driver, with MANY improvements over the years. Car story: This is areal "sleeper" type car. It started out as a 304/904, basic transportation type. I have put in a 73 360, with Holley 4160 4bbl, a rear anti sway bar, boxed lower rear control arms, a full Alpine sound system, new carpet, 15" Chrysler factory rims (a dead ringer for the optional AMC 15"ers), a true dual exhast, a 727 trans,a completely redone R-134 AC system, dual snorkel air cleaner w/ K&N filter, a Pertronix ignition w/ Blue Streak coil, Air Lift air bags in the rear coils, new carpet, the police/fleet style oil pres/amp gauge cluster (VERY rare)as well as the usual replacement parts, new steering box, ALL new brake lines, shocks, etc, etc. This car will accelerate like a whale on crack! And I'm only half done! | ||||||
