This is where you can find AMC and Matador Coupe parts for sale, and view the listings of what other owners are looking for. I don't make a penny off of this page - it is here as a public service to help keep AMCs on the road, and to keep good parts from being discarded.

I have just recently had some custom u-joint girdles made to replace the wimpy stock straps and bolts. These are available now, so if you want them for your AMC, let me know!

Parts Car: 1977 Matador Bacelona Coupe. Recently involved in a t-bone accident to right side at the passenger door. Hood, rear deck and left side intact. Rear window good, drivers window and door okay. All chrome is in good condition. Entire drive tran functional, 360 engine, 727 tranny and twin grip rear still operational. Have 4bbl intake manifold off of 360 and spare left front fender. Have all the original wheel rims w/ chrome rings, size 15inches, came with car and color coded to the two red Barcelona package. Tires are in good condition. Son was slowly adding parts to try and restore befoe the accident. All gauges work as well as the orginal radio. Asking 1000 or best offer. AMC 290-401 torque plates. $140.00 each. Some people call them Torque Plates, but it's to keep the block in the same shape as it would be with the head bolted on while the engine is being bored and/or honed. They are made from 1.35" thick solid steel plate with all the cylinder and bolt holes machined for the 290-401 motors - this will mean that you will use the short AMC head bolts to torque the plate to the block.

Congratulate me, I managed to badger a vendor into reprducing the 74-78 Matador gloveboxes. It was patterned off of the somewhat shabby but complete one in my coupe, and it looks identical, only better! All of the speed nuts are already attached, and there holes for the light and the fusebox. The original part was group # 22.058-1, part #3658514, and will fit all 74-78 Matador coupes, sedans, and wagons, along with the 74 Ambassador. The price is $19.95 plus shipping, and you can order them from Sunstate Reproductions by calling 520-826-1586, or send an e-mail to partsmanse@vtc.net. Also need the woodgrain inserts, which hide the retaining fasteners, for the interior door pull straps. Four are needed as there are two per door. A turn-key 1974-78 Matador Coupe. Any engine (even a 232), any transmission (even 3-on-the-tree), just as long as they run and operate fully and smoothly, and require little to nothing to be perfect. Body, paint, interior, and trim must be in sound, presentable condition. Very little to no rust, please. Front disc brakes are a must, and a/c, power steering, tilt column, AM/FM radio (8-track, even), and rear defroster would be preferred. The more options, nicer appointments, the better. A vehicle in Oregon or Washington, preferred. Cost depends on the condition, features, and mileage of the vehicle.
