BRYAN'S LOFT BED PROJECT

Bryan from Sacramento CA is one of the 85+ people who have requested my plans for the loft beds I have made. He kindly sent in pictures of his completed project. His letter and pictures are posted below. Hopefully this will inspire some others to send in pictures of their project!

Thanks for sending me your loft bed plans. Attached are some pictures so you can see how it turned out. The window in the room made things a little challenging - I used a 2x6 cleat on that wall so the bed could protrude over the window. The stake pockets worked out great for making the railing removable, although I had a hard time finding them. It turns out that both Home Depot and Lowe's carry them, but no one that worked there knew what I was talking about. I used two modified L brackets as ladder hooks to secure the ladder to the bed - one side of the bracket needed to be cut before bending it over to form the hook. The ladder rests on the ground and the hooks keep it attached to the loft. Thanks again for sharing your idea and plans with me - my 4 year old daughter loves it and anyone that comes over is amazed at our "floating" bed!
